Case: For an active Helsingborg

With the UN's 17 global goals for sustainable development as their focus, Akea and Eleda Group, together with Midroc Properties, Midroc Electro, JKAB Arkitekter, and in collaboration with HHC Ungdom, have found a common way forward for girls interested in hockey in the Helsingborg region. We are leaning towards UN Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being – but also Goal 5 – Gender Equality – and Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
Young people feel better when there is an active community life that pays attention to them, stimulates them, and inspires them. Physical activity and exercise improve health, and of course there should be no difference between girls' and boys' opportunities to participate fully in the club. When the business community, clubs, and the public sector work together, opportunities are created to really move children from one place to a better one.
The partnership helps Helsingborg Hockey run activities that get more girls into ice hockey and also attract more female leaders, in line with the Swedish Sports Confederation's 2025 gender equality goal of a 60-40 ratio of men to women in decision-making positions in clubs.
